Outstanding British actress.
Byron made her first film Young Mr. Pitt in 1941, shortly after completing her training at the Old Vic. At first a standard-issue ingénue, she later moved into big-budget films like A Matter of Life and Death (1946) and Black Narcissus (1948) - giving a rivetting performance in the latter as an insane nun
Other film credits include Young Bess (1953), Hammer Films’ Twins of Evil (1971) and Nothing But The Night (1972), The Elephant Man (1980) and even Saving Private Ryan (1998).
Byron also worked extensively on television.
This is a very pretty vintage 1940s black and white photograph (5.5" x 3.5"), nicely signed in blue fountain pen ink to the lower white panel. In very good condition.
