Lovely American actress.

A former member of the famed Pasadena Playhouse, the lovely Jane Adams is probably best remembered as the most beautiful of all Universal's monster creations, the hunchbacked nurse Nina in House of Dracula (1945). The following year she reinforced her position as a horror actress in The Brute Man, playing a blind pianist for whom Rondo Hatton (playing the Creeper, a murderer seeking revenge against the people he holds responsible for the disfigurement of his face) tries to raise money for an operation to restore her sight.

She then appeared in Lost City of the Jungle (1946), a rough-and-tumble serial noted as the swan song of veteran villain Lionel Atwill.

Adams also has the distinction of acting in early adaptations of both Batman and Superman. She played Vicki Vale in Batman and Robin, a 15-chapter serial released in 1949 by Columbia, and also appeared in a 1953 episode of George Reeves’ Superman.

Adams retired completely from show business in 1953 in order to travel with her husband, Major General Thomas Turnage, later an advisor to President Ronald Reagan.
