Hugely popular Edinburgh-born music hall entertainer.
Lauder made his name as a singer of Scottish songs, many of which he wrote himself, including Roamin’ in the Gloamin’. His fame extended far beyond Britain – he toured America and the Commonwealth extensively from 1909.
Lauder was knighted in 1919 for his work in organising entertainment for the troops in the Great War.
This is a fine vintage linen-effect sepia photograph (5.25" x 3.5"), nicely signed to a light area of the image in dark blue fountain pen ink. In good condition.
