Distinguished British singer, born in Northern Ireland.
For twenty years Burrowes was one of the most sought-after sopranos in the world, an outstanding performer of the works of Bizet, Faure, Vaughan Williams, Bach, Mozart, Humperdinck, Purcell and other great composers.
The early 1980s saw her mysterious retirement from the concert stage. There is some talk of a physiological ailment that brought this on, but little else is known.
Burrowes is now resident in Canada where she teaches singing at York University in Toronto.
This is a very fine white card (6" x 4"), boldly signed in black ink at the Prince of Wales Theatre in 1988. Signature obtained in person. In excellent condition.
