English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960 and one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed acts in the history of popular music.
From 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon (1940-1980), Paul McCartney
(1942- ), George Harrison (1943-2001) and Ringo Starr (1940- ).
This is a very fine early vintage set of the four signatures on one page (measuring 6" x 2") removed from a small autograph album. George Harrison and Ringo Starr have signed to one side and Paul McCartney and John Lennon to the other.
The signatures were originally set out on two facing pages, with a thread binding them into the album. Removal of the thread revealed the two pages to be one continuous piece of paper. Condition is very good.
The album was apparently originally owned by Jennifer Delfont, daughter of Lord Delfont, the theatrical impresario.
(The provenance is excellent, but for those of a nervous disposition, this set of signatures is remarkably similar to the very first offered as an authentic example by Edward Siebert in his definitive article - A Beatles Signature Study - in the UACC's Pen & Quill Magazine!)
