| English novelist and playwright.
Bagnold is most famous for her 1935 book, National Velvet, made into a hugely successful film starring the young Elizabeth Taylor in 1945. She was also an outstanding playwright, remembered particularly for The Chalk Garden (1955), filmed in 1964 and starring Deborah Kerr.
Interesting footnote:Bagnold was also a secret morphine addict for over 60 years!
This is a fine ink signature on a cream 3.5" x 2,25" card, with Bagnold adding the date, 1953. In very good condition.
