Internationally famous English speed record pioneer ; began the legendary Bluebird speed dynasty racing cars at Brooklands in 1910.
Campbell broke 9 landspeed records between 1924 (146mph) and 1935 becoming the first man ever to break the 300mph barrier. He broke the waterspeed record 4 times ; the last one in Bluebird K4 at Coniston in 1939.Campbell was one of the very few speed pioneers of his era to die of natural causes.
This is a fine typed letter (Old Bond Street House, 6-8 Old Bond Street, London, W1, 10th March 1933), responding with thanks to a man who has sent a cable of congratulations following "Blue Bird's recent success". There's a good signature (M.Campbell) in black fountain pen ink at the conclusion.
One horizontal correspondence fold. Some damage to the top left corner but otherwise in good condition.
