Great British comedian and actor.

A fine comedian on the boards and in pantomime, Barty made his film debut in 1933 in This Is The Life. He went on to appear in two Thelma Todd comedy shorts, Babes in the Goods (1934) and Maid in Hollywood (1934), Mixed Nuts (1934), In Town Tonight (1935), The Sea Fiend (1936), It’s In The Bag (1936), All In (1936), Talking Feet (1937), Take A Chance (1937), George Formby’s Feather Your Nest (1937) and Gaslight (1940).

Barty is probably most famous for his appearance in Laurel and Hardy’s Oliver the Eighth (a memorable performance as Jitters, the crazy butler, 1934). He was also an uncredited writer on Sons of the Desert (1933).

This is a fine black and white photograph (approximately 7" x 5"), nicely signed in ink across a light area of the image. There's also an inscription ("To Babs") in a dark area in the top left corner. Condition is very good. RARE.
