British singer, with a method of crooning and a relaxed style that was heavily influenced by, and similar to, Bing Crosby; although his overall style was probably closer to that of Perry Como.

Holliday served in the Merchant Navy during World War II, and in a 'stop-off' in New York, he won a talent contest at Radio City Hall. This gave him the confidence to become a professional singer and he began by offering his services around Liverpool's dance halls. His first important professional work came as a member of the Eric Winstone Orchestra. He rapidly became a bill topper in the dying days of Variety, moving on to television and records.

Holliday’s biggest hits were The Story of My Life and Starry Eyed, No.1 hits in 1958 and 1959 respectively, with Stairway of Love reaching No. 3 in 1958.

The 1960s brought a long series of failures and on the 29th October Holliday was found dead of a drugs overdose in Croydon, in Surrey.

This is a superb signature in blue ink on a vintage 1950s album page (5.5" x 3.75"). In excellent condition. RARE.
