British singer, guitarist and songwriter, member of the rock band The Moody Blues.

After a spell with Marty Wilde as a member of his backing band, the Wilde Cats, Hayward joined the Moody Blues line-up in 1966 as a replacement for Denny Laine, who had quit the band earlier in the year.

He quickly established himself as the romantic/mystic of the band, with compositions such as Nights in White Satin (on the 1967 album Days of Future Passed), New Horizons and Your Wildest Dreams.
Hayward's career as a solo artist began in 1977 with the release of Songwriter, followed up in 1980 with Night Flight. During the next several years, Hayward devoted much of his attention to the revived Moody Blues, with a full touring and recording schedule. His Moving Mountains (1985) was reminiscent of his earlier work with the band from the start of the 1970s. Since then, when not working with the band and writing new material (his Your Wildest Dreams reached number nine in America in 1986), Hayward has spent much of his time reviving older Moody Blues songs in solo settings, as on the 1994 release Classic Blue in which he sings Moody Blues songs with orchestral accompaniment.

This is a very fine signature in black ink on a 6" x 4" white card. Obtained in person at the BBC in 1994. In very good condition.
