W1, 10th January 1972), thanking a fan for "a delightful letter" and commenting "Old Lampwich is my favourite character, and the one I most enjoy portraying, he's a lovable old rascal!" . There's a bold signature in black ink at the conclusion.

The page is also signed in ink by the great BBC newsreader, Bruce Belfrage (1900-1974), who famously carried on reading the news, covered in soot and plaster, on October 15th 1940, when a German bomb hit Broadcasting House.
