Travers, Linden   (1913-2001)
Travers, Linden
Lovely British actress, in some outstanding films but undoubtedly most famous for Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes (1939), playing “Mrs” Todhunter, the mistress of philandering Cecil Parker (happily shot by the Nazis as he tries to make a run for it).
Later in life Linden Travers proved to be a talented artist. This item demonstrates her skill - a very fine 7" x 5.5" blank greetings card published by the St Ives Printing and Publishing Company, featuring on the front her lovely 1986 painting of "Sophie" and boldly signed in blue fountain pen ink to the back cover. Rare and unusual!
