A fine cheque for $450, drawn on the Ilion Bank and payable to Gibbs and Halces, (March 7th 1853). It has been made out entirely in Eliphalet Remington's hand and signed in black ink, with Remington adding "& Sons" to his signature.RARE.

Great English jockey.

In 34 seasons between 1921 and 1954 Richards was Champion Jockey no less than 26 times and he rode 4870 winners. In 1953 he became the first, and so far only, jockey to receive a knighthood.

The definitive image of Gordon Richards - a peachy black and white vintage photograph (slightly larger than 8" x 6"), riding the great Pinza, following his Derby win. The photograph is fixed to a 12" x 10" presentation mount with Pinza's pedigree and race achievement set out on it: "Pinza, Chanteur II - Pasqua, Sir Gordon Richards up. Winner of the Coronation Derby 1953". Gordon Richards has signed the photograph in black ink and added the date, 1953, to the mount.
