A rare original black and white publicity photograph (8" x 10") of Michael Palin as Gilbert Chilvers in the 1984 comedy A Private Function (Palin played the mild-mannered owner of a chiropody shop in post-war Yorkshire, encouraged by his wife, Maggie Smith,  to steal a pig meant for a party to celebrate the wedding of Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip). The photograph, showing Palin outside his shop with the foot sign from his window, is signed across a lighter area of the image in blue ink ("The MANDALAY does wonders for the feet! A listing of TWO fine letters on headed notepaper (June 9th and June 12th, 1973), handwritten and signed in blue ink (Ted & Ted R.) and to the television reporter and show business writer, Arnie Wilson.
The first letter encloses an item (a photograph?) "rather precious to me and is the only one in existence, so make what use of it you may but please return it to me intact".
The second letter tells him that under separate cover he's sending "a tie and a 'gimmick' pen for the charity".
